Spring, 2012 Message
Spring is almost upon us. We've had an exciting winter.
The 5th Grade Girls' Basketball Team just finished another great season. Thank you to parents and families who support our teams. What a wonderful opportunity for our 5th graders to begin learning the wonderful life lessons that come from dedicating their time and efforts to play as part of a team.
A huge "thank you" to those who turned out and supported Blue Ridge for our annual McTeacher's Night at McDonald's. Our staff had a terrific time serving you and earning money to help fund some of the extras and fun things your students enjoy throughout the year.
Please remember that we will be holding Spring Conferences and we encourage you to set a time on the following dates/times to meet with your student's teacher. Parent involvement and those face to face meeting times between parents and teachers is key to what we do.
Tues. 3/6 3:15-6:45
Thurs. 3/8 3:15-6:45
Fri. 3/9 7:45-3:15
Celebration of Learning for Kinder and 1st on Tues. 3/6 from 5:00-6:30
I'd like to express my appreciation to those parents and guardians who have attended our Dual Language and Platooning Meetings (Pastries with the Principal and the Platooning Parents Luncheon). I invite both Dual Language, Platooning, and those parents and guardians of this year's 2nd Graders (who will be in the Platooning Model in the 2012-2013 school year) to our next luncheon on March 22nd at 12:00 pm at Blue Ridge. This is a great opportunity for us to share with one another what we can do better, what our expectations are for your child, and what schoolwork and homework will look like in these models. I always welcome and rely on your input - you are your child's first teacher.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and to catch up with what is happening here at Blue Ridge!
