Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

Students were treated to the taste of kumquats the week of December 15th. Kumquats are a fruit resembling an orange (but much smaller). Kumquats are native to Asia. Ask your child about this new and exciting fruit. The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is funded through the USDA. We are lucky to be able to participate and students learn a great deal about fruits and vegetables. We thank our kitchen staff for preparing these tasty treats several times per week!

Care and Share Food Drive

Care and Share Food Drive Chairman, Peter Swant of Coldwell-Banker First Realtors presents a member of the Blue Ridge Student Leadership Team with a check for $100.00 for being the 3rd prize winner in the contest amongst local schools. Blue Ridge students and staff donated 1,417 pounds of food this year. Way to go, Eagles!

Winter Weather

Please dress your student warmly for the weather. We have had very cold weather lately and children go outside for recess each day. Coats, hats, and gloves help keep students warm at recess and on their way to and from school.

1st Annual Jingle Bell Jog Great Fun

Students and staff were excited to participate in the first ever Jingle Bell Jog, Wednesday, December 17th. Sponsored by the Blue Ridge Staff Fun Committee, students and staff members jogged a route (wearing jingle bells) around the school and neighborhood. Joggers were then treated to hot chocolate to warm up from their frosty run. Special thanks to Ms. Thonney for planning this great event!
