Celebration of Learning a Success

Thanks to all those who attended our annual Celebration of Learning event the night of Feburary 23rd. Guests enjoyed a bowl of pozole with all the fixings, dancing by the BR Dancing Eagles dance troupe, and the Scholastic Book Fair. Students and families were also able to meet with teachers to talk about their progress and their further goals for the year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1st Graders Study States of Matter

 

Students in Ms. Garanzuay's 1st grade science class study states of matter. Led by Whitman College Science Outreach Coordinator, Heidi Chapin they explored the use of liquid nitrogen to make ice cream. Thanks to Whitman College and their continued support in making science fun and very real for our students!

Student of the Month

Student of the Month awards were presented the morning of February 24th at a schoolwide assembly. Students of the Month exhibit great behavior in all areas of their school life. Congrats to the February Students of the Month!

Share the Love Fundraiser Wraps Up

 Blue Ridge's 2nd Annual Share the Love Event wrapped up today. Over $700.00 was raised to benefit the Blue Mountain Humane Society. Special visitor, Blue was on hand to greet students this afternoon. Thanks to students, staff, families, and especially the Blue Ridge Leaership team who coordinated this fundraiser.

March 7th - Elementary Math Competition, 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

March 19th - Family Night, Music and Art, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

March 31st - Choir Festival at Wa-Hi, 7:00 pm

 

 

Assembly Relay a Hit!

BR held its first ever Assembly Relay the morning of the 24th. Teams comprised of student and staff members competed against one another to complete a series of funny tasks such as: wheeling through the gym on scooters, eating pickles and chocolate, and wearing silly accessories all the while! (Team Winner: The Supah-Stars - Mr. Eggart, Mr. Hubbard, and Ms. Brennan.)

 

Cadre Leadership

Blue Ridge's Cadre Leadership Team hosted a bubblegum blowing contest February 13th. Members of the Cadre Leadership Team were paired with a 3rd grader to show them how to blow bubblegum bubbles. Great fun was had by all.
